Check-In: Our check-in time is 1:00 pm. Please complete the online check-in process and sign the terms and conditions. Cell Service is limited in the area. Please complete it before you arrive. Upon arrival, drive to your site. Please try to arrive prior to dark so as not to disturb other campers and the neighbors. We are in a residential area and want to be good neighbors. There is also very little lighting in the area. Be prepared with a flashlight if it is dark when you arrive. If you are in site 1, make sure that your camping unit does not obstruct the driveway to site 2.
Check-out: Our check-out time is 12:00 pm. As you vacate the site, please make sure that all trash is placed in the provided receptacle and clip/lock is in place. Put out the fire. Do not leave trash in the fire pit. If you have pets, do a final walk-through and check for droppings.
Assistance: For emergencies, call 911. For urgent, immediate needs (plumbing issues, dangerous situations, unit access problems, etc.), call 681-378-CAMP (2267)
Alcoholic Beverages: All state and federal laws apply. Alcoholic beverage consumption is restricted to those 21 or older. Drink responsibly.
Campfires: Controlled campfires are encouraged and permitted in designated fire pits. Fires must be supervised while burning and then fully extinguished. Do not cut live trees or burn trash. Firewood is often available to purchase (cash only) from the neighbor to the left when facing the property.
Cancellation:
- Greater than 14 days notice is required to receive a refund (less a $15 service fee per site)
- date change requests can be made 7 days or more in advance of your reservation, one time with no additional charge. Additional changes can be made less a $15 service fee per site as long as they are also 7 days or more in advance of your reservation.
- No refunds or date change requests with less than 7 days’ notice
- No refunds are given for early departures or “no-shows.” Please understand that we cannot be held responsible for weather, illness, work schedules, or other situations outside of our control.
Cell Service: Cell service is very spotty as this is a gorgeous well kept secret area of West Virginia.
Changes to this policy: The Retreat at Watoga reserves the right to update the Rules/Terms of Service at any time.
Children: Children are welcome! Children should be directly supervised by an adult at all times. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s safety and behavior.
Construction/Maintenance: Certain sites and areas of the property may be closed for landscaping and maintenance at times. For your safety, please respect any restricted or blocked-off areas.
Discounts: The Retreat at Watoga may offer discounts at times. Click the Book Now button from our website to see what we are offering.
Fireworks: Fireworks are prohibited on The Retreat at Watoga property.
Food: Do not leave food accessible outside of your camper or vehicle. There are wildlife in the area. Bears in the area have been known to open coolers.
Garbage: We strive to keep our grounds as clean as possible. Please deposit your garbage in the receptacle provided and make sure the clip/lock is in place.
Grills: Fire cooking is permitted in provided fire pits. Personal charcoal and propane grills are permitted. Please use it responsibly.
Occupancy: RV sites are based on a maximum of 6 persons and 2 pets per site. Visitors are not permitted to stay overnight.
Parking: Limit of 2 vehicles per site.
Payment: All reservations require payment in full. See our cancellation policy for refund or date change information.
Pets: There is a 2-dog limit per site. To ensure all of our guest’s enjoyment, we do not allow aggressive, uncontrolled, or constantly barking dogs on the property. Please ensure your dogs are always well-mannered and under your control. All dogs must be kept on a leash (not to exceed 6 feet) unless inside your unit. Animal waste must be picked up by the pet owner.
Photography: The Retreat at Watoga uses video surveillance for the security and protection of our guests. Entrance onto this property constitutes permission to be photographed/videoed for lawful purposes without compensation or notification to the guest.
Registered Guests: The registered guest responsible for the site must be at least 18 years of age to reserve and rent a site. The person making the reservation must have a valid government-issued photo identification. The primary renter of the site is responsible for the actions and safety of the registered guests and visitors of the site and will be responsible for the actions of or damages caused by guests or visitors. All camping equipment and associated materials must be located within the confines of the assigned site.
Quiet Hours: Our quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 8:00 am. No loud music, excessive noise, or bright exterior lighting may be operated during quiet hours. No visitors during quiet hours.
Right to Refuse/Evict/Deny Access: The Retreat at Watoga is privately owned. Owners reserve the right to refuse service, evict, or deny access to anyone under any circumstances deemed necessary in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws. There will be no refunds.
Seasonal Minimums and Maximums: We require a minimum of a 2-night stay on weekends and a 3-night stay on holidays. We have a maximum stay of 14 days.
Supplies: Camping supplies, bike rentals, tube rentals, pizza, souvenirs, and the best soft-serve ice cream is available across the street at Jack Horner’s Corner.
Smoking: Do NOT throw cigarette butts on the ground or in your fire rings. Please dispose of them properly.
Tents: Sites may have one tent in addition to their RV.
Theft and Loss: Campers are responsible for securing their personal property, including but not limited to their campers and contents, vehicles, bicycles, and any other personal property. The Retreat at Watoga is not responsible or liable for any theft or loss of any kind, nor damage caused by acts of God, fires, floods, windstorms, explosions, lightning strikes, accidents, or vandalism. Guests are responsible for maintaining insurance on their campers, vehicles, and personal property.
Travel Insurance: We recommend protecting your trip with a travel insurance company in case of inclement weather or illness that might arise. We do not cancel reservations due to rain, thunderstorms, or illness.
Visitor policy: All persons not registered to the site are considered guests. They must depart prior to 10:00 pm.
Washing RVs and Vehicles: RVs and vehicles may not be washed or rinsed on the property.
Weapons: Unholstered handguns or other uncased weapons, including rifles, shotguns, and bows and arrows, are prohibited at The Retreat at Watoga. Please keep all cased weapons locked in your vehicle. No explosive materials or other dangerous substances are permitted. Discharging of any type of firearm or weapon, including pellet, BB, and Paintball, is prohibited.
Wi-Fi: Due to our rural location, the wi-fi connection may be spotty. We provide access free of charge to our guests. The Wi-Fi password will be provided prior to arrival.
Wildlife: Wildlife is abundant in the area. Wild animals should not be approached or fed within The Retreat at Watoga. To avoid wildlife encounters, dispose of food and garbage with care. Make sure food is secured in your camper or vehicle. Bears have been known to open coolers in the area.
Waiver and Indemnity of Liability: Customer shall indemnify and hold The Retreat at Watoga harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from any and all damages or injuries caused by fire, water, wind, civil strife, or acts of God, owner and/or customer actions or inactions (or those of their employees, agents, or invitees), or any other related to Customer’s use or occupation of the campsite, regardless of whether such loss was caused by the negligence of any of the customer’s parties.
By making a reservation, Guest hereby waives, releases, and discharges and covenants not to hold liable Four Seasons Investments LLC dba The Retreat at Watoga for any and all claims and liability for personal injury, accidents, property damage, any other claim arising out of or in connections with Guests’ use of the property. Further, the guest agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Retreat at Watoga from all losses, claims, expenses, and demands, including attorneys’ fees, that The Retreat at Watoga may incur arising out of in connection with Guests’ use of the property. Guest further agrees to be fully responsible and liable for the actions of every person in their group.
